Serving Asheville, North Carolina and the surrounding area we are located in the growing town of Hendersonville. Asheville is now known as beer city USA, and easily becoming a stop on any gourmand’s shortlist. The beer, food and art scene is creeping into Hendersonville and the design district seemed like a natural move from Asheville’s now overgrown River Arts District. Because we specialize in several areas of the food world, our appliance sales showroom is open by appointment only, but we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Our showroom is small by design, not wasting resources on a large space with a sales staff that end up being paid for by little add-ons and mark-ups on your bill. This also keeps us from having to push what’s on our floor. We strive to find out what is best for you and help those appliances find their way to your kitchen. Come make an appointment with us, but leave time to visit the bakery, brewery, Brandy bar and other places popping up all in walking distance of our shop.

Chefcargo is the brainchild of Chef Matt DeRobertis (Chef DeRo). It has evolved and grown since its inception shortly after he finished culinary school.

Aside from being involved in the sales of high-end appliances such as AGA and Marvell, Matt splits his time between teaching, writing, and consulting about all things food. Matt’s love of food started early. His mother, a professionally trained ballerina, opened a small dance studio when he was ten. So, while she taught dance a couple of nights a week, Matt began experimenting with the family meals. Many years and experiments later (and after a brief stint in graphic design), Matt found his way to AB-Tech’s award winning culinary program in 1998. Chef DeRo was born. After graduation, Chef DeRo worked as a chef at the prestigious Eseeola Lodge in Linville, North Carolina. In time, Matt returned to Asheville and worked in AB-Tech’s culinary program where he still fills in from time to time. The following years of working in restaurants and owning a catering company led him to develop Chefcargo and what it has grown to encompass.

Billy the Chef is an adventure taking you through the journey of a boy who gets interested in cooking at an early age.
